Native Australian Animals
Australia has a wide range of native animal species. Birds, Amphibians, Invertebrates, Mammals and Reptiles are some of the types of animal species in Australia. All of these types live in very different environments and habitats all over the country. Below is a painting that replicates Australia's diversity of animals.

Adaptation differences in animals
There are two specific species of Australian animals that will be focused on in this website, they are the Long-Nosed Bandicoot and the Murray River Turtle. Both species of animals have evolved and display different adaptations. The environment that a specific species lives in impacts what adaptations organisms have to survive in that environment. The long-nosed bandicoot has vastly different adaptations to the Murray River Turtle as they live in completely different environments. The Long-Nosed Bandicoot is a land based species and has adapted to the woodlands/rainforest environments, whereas the Murray River Turtle is a marine based species and has adapted differently to survive in the water. The different behavioural, structural and physiological adaptations possessed by both species help it survive in an optimum tolerance range in their respective environments. By adapting to the different environments, both animal species are continuing to survive in their respective habitats.
